Some, who are motivated, get their taxes done early so they don’t have to worry about it, but many wait until the very last minute to turn in their tax forms. Right now, people everywhere are in the tax time frenzy, whether it be waiting on their refund to come back or painstakingly completing their 2015 taxes. This means it’s the perfect opportunity for you to reach out to your customers and leverage tax time marketing. Here are three simple ideas to make April showers bring sales this month.

Host Tax Consultants
For some dealerships, this may not be an option, but if it is, think about having professional tax consultants on hand to help customers complete their taxes before April 15th. Your customers will be thankful for your generosity and helpfulness and your dealership will gain top-of-mind awareness and increased foot traffic.

Offer Refund Match
Another great way to capitalize on the tax season, is to offer customers a refund match. Be sure to set a limit for how much you will match and that the match must be used towards the purchase of a new vehicle. The truth is some of your customers would love a new vehicle, but don’t have the upfront money to get their monthly payment to a reasonable amount. By offering a refund match, you can give customers the security of a down payment and the luxury of an affordable monthly payment.

Provide Tax Specials
This one may seem like a no brainer, but it’s worth mentioning. Think about offering specials in your dealership that are specific to tax season. For example, you could offer to pay the sales tax when a customer purchases a vehicle. Or, offer specials that have the number 15 in them, like a $15 oil change or $15 multi-point inspection. These types of campaigns are great to grab customers’ attention and drive them to your dealership.
