The Employees at OneCommand Join Together to Help Homeless Students in the Cincinnati Area Get a Great Start to the New School Year

August 07, 2014

OneCommand partners with Project Connect to provide school supplies to children experiencing homelessness in the Cincinnati Public School District.

Cincinnati, OH – OneCommand, the leading Customer Marketing and Loyalty Automation Platform™ for auto dealers, school districts, municipalities, churches, non-profit charities, sports teams, senior living centers, and property management organizations, has teamed up with Project Connect, an organization providing advocacy paired with specialized educational services and lifestyle enrichment opportunities for children who have neither a voice, nor a choice, in being homeless, to ensure homeless students in the Cincinnati area have all the school supplies they need to get a great start to the new school year.

The team at OneCommand will collect school supplies, such as notebooks, crayons, pencils, and calculators, plus cash donations during the month of August to benefit Project Connect’s efforts. These needed supplies will help homeless children in the Cincinnati area start their school year off right with their essential supplies. All donations and school supplies will be collected in OneCommand’s corporate office in Mason, Ohio, as well as their satellite offices in Costa Mesa, California and Schaumburg, Illinois.

“Education is the single most important thing we can provide our youth to ensure they get a jump start on life. Without necessary school supplies, these children are starting their education at a disadvantage, not to mention their life struggles of being homeless,” states Jeff Hart, President and CEO at OneCommand. “The team at OneCommand has donated supplies to Project Connect for several years now and it’s nice to see the team pitching in again to make a difference in the lives of these children.”

Project Connect, Cincinnati Public Schools Homeless Program, was founded in 1996 and supports the education of children and youth experiencing homelessness. Project Connect works to ensure academic success and school stability to school-age children experiencing homelessness, one of the fastest growing segments of the homeless population in America. Each year Project Connect provides essential supplies for the school year to hundreds of homeless students.

“It’s organizations like OneCommand who make it possible for Project Connect to continue to help children experiencing homelessness in the Cincinnati area. The students benefit greatly from their donations and it provides these children with the tools they need to start the school year off on the right foot,” comments the team at Project Connect. “Every donation given to Project Connect, big or small, helps and we are so thankful.”

OneCommand’s school supply drive started on August 1st and will run through the August 20th. Any local organization or individuals who are interested in helping out with this initiative should contact the OneCommand Marketing Team for details and drop-off locations.
