Five Ways to Show Thanks to Customers for their LoyaltyThe month of November has always been a time to show thanks and what better time than now to demonstrate your thanks to customers. With the spirit of thanks in the air, your customers will appreciate your thoughtful gestures and reward you with additional business this holiday season. Here are five ways you can show thanks to your customers for their loyalty throughout the year.

  1. Personally thank each customer for visiting your dealership. That’s right, as service customers lineup in your drive this month, take a moment to say “thank you for your business and for choosing us for your vehicle service needs.”
  2. Make fresh coffee. Most dealerships offer coffee in their service waiting areas, but often times it is old. Be sure to brew a fresh pot every 30 minutes or so and even think about having donuts or baked goods to demonstrate your thanks to customers.
  3. Check in with your service customers at the designated time interval. For example, if you quoted that the service should be completed in 45 minutes, then at 45 minutes a Service Advisor should check in with the customer and let them know if additional time is required to complete their service work.
  4. Train your service staff to ask customers, “Is there anything else we can do for you today?” This simple saying can go a long way to ensure customers feel that they are being properly taken care of. Plus, you could find that your staff uncovers additional service work needed.
  5. Send a thank you message to customers after their service work has been performed. This message can be in the form of a written letter, email, or phone call. Be sure to ask how their service visit went and if anything could have been done to improve their experience.

After reading these five ways to show thanks to your customers, you’ve probably already come up with a couple more to add to the list. Make this November a time to demonstrate your appreciation and thankfulness to customers for their business; it will go a long way in building lasting customer relationships.
