Spring Into Increased ROs with Vehicle Education

May 20, 2016

Spring Into Increased ROs with Vehicle Education	Are you looking for additional service business this month? Have you noticed a slow-down in service lane traffic as the end of the school year approaches and warmer weather sets in? Trying to determine what type of clever marketing you can utilize to drive customers to your Service Department? Well this week we’ll share ideas that will help your dealership spring into increased ROs.

Educate About Basic Maintenance
The rules around when a vehicle needs regular maintenance performed have changed over the last couple of decades. They’ve gone from every 3,000 miles to every 5,000 miles to every 7,500 miles, and now some have even gone to every 12,000 miles. The daily life of a consumer is so busy that it is difficult for them to remember when their vehicle needs to be serviced. This presents the perfect opportunity for you to reach out to customers and educate them about the needed maintenance for their vehicle.

Educate About Spring Maintenance
Now that the colder weather is behind us and we are heading into summer, educate customers about the change of seasons maintenance. For many parts of the country, there are specific vehicle maintenance items that should be performed to prep vehicles for warmer weather. Even if your dealership is in a part of the country that doesn’t have to worry about the change of seasons, you can still educate customers about needed seasonal maintenance items, such as changing windshield wipers and air filters, or checking tires for tread wear and proper inflation.

Educate About Summer Travel Maintenance
At this point, people all over America have caught summer fever. Think about capitalizing on that feeling to educate your customers about needed maintenance for their summer travel. Your customers are busy people and most of them don’t think about vehicle maintenance that is specific to travel. But as you know, not performing maintenance before traveling can lead to a vacation disaster. So, be sure to get your customers ready for the road by educating them about prepping their vehicle for summer travel.

If you’d like to drive more traffic and revenue to your Service Department this month, then it’s time to educate customers about needed vehicle maintenance.
