Heat Up Your Marketing with a Grill Out

July 15, 2016

Heat Up Your Marketing with a Grill OutChances are your summer is heating up, but are you driving enough traffic and revenue to your dealership? Are you looking for an easy way to bring more foot traffic to your lot? Well look no further, this campaign is for you. Since nothing brings people together like food, think about hosting a grill out at your dealership and inviting members of your community, current customers, and potential prospects. Here are three steps to heat up your marketing and get the most out of your grill out.

Plan the Event
First things first, determine when you’ll host your grill out. You’ll want to look at local calendars to make sure you aren’t holding your event during a time when something else is going on in your community. Next determine what time you’ll host your grill out. Most likely you’ll want to have it during your dealership’s hours of operation, but depending on your location, you may determine to have it late afternoon or evening due to the heat. Lastly, you’ll need to make sure that you have enough staff on-site to accommodate for the influx of people. Remember you’ll need someone grilling, another person serving, possibly someone handing out drinks and snacks, and plenty of staff to mingle with the attendees.

Solicit Help
Hosting a grill out is great, and people are definitely drawn to food, but if you’re looking to kick your campaign up a notch, then think about soliciting help from other business in your community. You could ask a local band or radio station to come play music. You could see if a local ice cream truck would like to come serve your patrons. You could even solicit the help of local children’s recreation companies to set up equipment for kids to play on. The possibilities for soliciting help from local businesses in your community are endless.

Communicate Details
Once you have everything set up for your grill out campaign, the only thing left to do is communicate the details about your event. You’ll want to leverage your database to reach customers and prospects. You could do a nice invitation through direct mail, but if you don’t have that kind of budget, leverage email to deliver your invitation. Also, be sure to leverage social media to reach people outside your database. Facebook offers location-based advertising to reach people who are within a particular distance from your dealership. This form of advertising is typically pretty inexpensive and has proven very engaging to recipients.

This summer, drive traffic to your dealership and heat up your marketing with a grill out. By offering people free food, you’ll drive them to your store and gain additional revenue.
